Anita Barone

A versatile stage actress who has been relegated mostly to shows on TV, Anita Barone received her greatest chance in the medium when she played husband of Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which played for one season on ABC between 1995 and 1996. Barone played on stage in her first performance at age five in Detroit when her family moved away from St Louis. At the age of 23, she had appeared in more than 50 shows, mostly in university production and regional theaters. She portrayed Juliet as the twisted young nun in "Agnes of God,"" Helen Keller, the main character in "Monday After the Miracle,"" and Juliet also on screen in "Romeo as well as Juliet." The actress made her screen debut with a small role in "The The Rosary Murders" (1987), had some time on screen in "Ricochet" (1991) as well as got a leading role in the comedy that was indie "Just Friends" (1996). However, her first Hollywood employment of note was in the company that owns "Carol And Company" (NBC in 1990 and 1991) which was a disastrous plan to Carol Burnett to revive the variety/sketch comedy program. Barone was for the first time in "Wounded Heart", a 1995 USA Network film. In the end, she got back to her weekly sitcom grind, co-starring with Michael Chiklis in "Daddio" (NBC 2001).
